Welcome to our wonderfully chaotic corner of the internet.
We’re a family of three humans — one mom, one dad, and one fiercely resilient 13-year-old — plus two Portuguese Water Dogs who have a lot of opinions about living in a 43-foot 5th wheel. After Hurricane Helene dumped two feet of water into our home, we traded floorplans for fifth wheels, hardwood for hook-ups, and moved… exactly 37 feet. Into our driveway.
Why?
Because rebuilding a home doesn’t mean you have to rebuild your whole life. Our daughter wanted to stay on our street, near her friends and school. We wanted to avoid spending $5,000 a month on a 1,200 sq. ft. rental that didn’t feel like home. And truthfully? We figured if life was going to turn upside down, we might as well make it an adventure.
Who am I kidding… I thought we should make it an adventure — the rest of the family is just entertaining my wild idea.
What You’ll Find Here:
This blog is our digital scrapbook — part journal, part therapy, part “please tell me someone else has used an RV oven to bake cupcakes for a middle school birthday.”
We’ll share:
- The wins: demo milestones, design choices, small joys in tiny spaces
- The struggles: leaky hoses, tight quarters, moments when we question all our life choices
- The real stuff: raising a teen while rebuilding a life, managing work from a rolling office, and figuring out how to keep a sense of humor when your “master bedroom” doubles as the dog’s preferred nap spot
Some days will be inspiring.
Some days will be messy.
Some days will just be us… hanging on by a bungee cord and a half-empty bottle of dry shampoo.
We’re here to tell the whole story — not just the Instagrammable moments. So whether you’re navigating a rebuild, wondering about RV life, or just in it for the dog content (no judgment), we’re glad you’re here.
